She scored two goals and eight games to her credit which helped the magicJack earn the league's highest third place finish that year. The magicJack was dissolved in the latter part of 2011, and WPS was dissolved in early 2012. Rapinoe returned to the United States in 2011 after playing with Sydney Football Club FC, the Australian W-League. It was the Seattle Washington Sounders Women, which is now Sound FC, were her first team. In 2013, Rapinoe spent her time training in France. She later joined the National Women's Soccer League NWSL (formerly the WPS) created in following the dissolution of the WPS. Rapinoe was soon one of the leading scorers of her team. She eventually rose to become the captain. Rapinoe's two goals were part of a 4-3-2 United States victory against Australia during the Olympics of 2020 held in Tokyo. Japan, however, was delayed to 2021 after the COVID-19 virus was over.
